How to make documents go to the Submissions tab instead of the Approvals Tab

Overview

When a document is submitted for the first time it will bypass the Submissions tab and go straight into the Approvals tab (If your organisation has an approval process enabled)

Prompt Documents will go into the Submissions tab, after the draft and review stages, if you have Document Author Submissions disabled in your Organisation.

This ensures that the document must be checked in by the Submission Owner, Document Owner, or Admin before moving to Approval.

PERMISSION REQUIRED: Prompt Administrator or Administrator

Steps to Disable Document Author Submissions

  1. Navigate to Admin > Manage Organisation > Submission Process
  2. Toggle Enable Document Author Submissions OFF
  3. Select Save or Submit to apply the changes

Impact of Disabling DA Submissions

  • Before disabling DA Submissions:
    • The document author can check in documents directly, bypassing the Submission tab.
    • Documents move straight to Approvals without review by the Submission Owner.
  • After disabling DA Submissions:
    • Documents will be held in the Submissions tab after checkout.
    • Only the Submission Owner, Document Owner, or Admin can check them in before they proceed to Approvals.

Conclusion

Disabling DA Submissions ensures better control over document submissions, requiring verification by designated owners before proceeding to approval.
