How to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on Authenticator Application

As a Prompt user, MFA is enforced to protect your organisation's critical documentation and provide a secure login experience.

MFA options in Prompt:

  1. MFA Authenticator Application, typically installed on your smartphone (Or PC)
  2. Email Token, refer to this guide
MFA Authenticator Application is the Default option in Prompt.



Authenticator application Multi-Factor Authentication

Your Admin / Prompt Admin can enable this option for Prompt users by navigating to:
Admin > Manage Users > User Edit > User Details > Security Information

Please note: The app needs to be able to scan a QR code. Some common MFA application options are:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator

If this is your first time logging into Prompt (or you have asked for your MFA to be reset), you will need to setup MFA on your phone.

Setting up MFA on Authenticator Application:

  1. Login to the Prompt Website with your Laptop or PC - https://app.prompt.org.au/
  2. Enter your Username and Password and press Login
  3. You will see an MFA QR Code appear on your screen
  4. (On your phone) Open your MFA application of choice
  5. (On your phone) Select the + symbol to Add a new MFA Code, select the QR Code option
  6. (On your phone) Scan the QR Code with your App
  7. (On your phone) The “Prompt” MFA option should appear as an option in the app
  8. (On your phone) Select the “Prompt” MFA option to get the code to login
