How to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Prompt Support Updated by Prompt Support

Permissions Required: General User

As a user, you will be required to have an MFA app available. Usually, you will install this on your smartphone.

The app needs to be able to scan a QR code. Some common MFA application options are:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy

If this is your first time logging into Prompt (or you have asked for your MFA to be reset), you will need to setup MFA on your phone.

Steps to setup MFA

  1. Login to the Prompt Website - https://app.prompt.org.au/
  2. Enter your Username and Password and press Login
  3. You will see an MFA QR Code appear on your screen
  4. (On your phone) Open your MFA application of choice
  5. (On your phone) Select the + symbol to Add a new MFA Code, select the QR Code option
  6. (On your phone) Scan the QR Code with your App
  7. (On your phone) The “Prompt” MFA option should appear as an option in the app
  8. (On your phone) Select the “Prompt” MFA option to get the code to login

Steps to login with MFA Code

  1. Enter the code from your application into the code text box just below the QR Code and click “Submit MFA Code”.
If the MFA code doesn't let you login to Prompt, check that the Date & Time settings on your phone are correct and set to Automatic.
