How to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Prompt Support Updated by Prompt Support

Permissions Required: General User

As a user you will be required to have an MFA application available (usually on your smartphone) that is able to scan a QR code. Some common MFA applications are:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy

To begin the setup process, browse to PROMPT and attempt to login normally. Upon entering a correct username and password, you will see an MFA QR Code appear on your screen:

With this QR Code open, launch your MFA application of choice and look to add a new MFA Code via the QR Code. Once you have scanned the QR Code you should now see among your list of MFA Codes the “Prompt” MFA Code.

Enter the code from your application into the code text box just below the QR Code and click “Submit MFA Code”. Assuming the code is correct you will then be granted access to the website.
